Monday, 6th January, 2025

Well, here we are in sunny Abu Dhabi with the temperature hovering around 23 degrees and seemingly a world away from the freezing, snowy and rainy England we left just yesterday evening. The wonders of modern travel, eh?

OK, the trip, 2025 style. Well, this is, obviously, our first stop with the aim being to break our journey on our way to our main destination. So on Thursday we fly to Phuket in Thailand, pick up a car, stay one night and then drive to our hotel fairly near to Kabila on the west coast. 3 weeks there, then on to Hoi An in Vietnam for 2 weeks, then back to Thailand, this time Koh Samui again for another 3 week stint and then back via a short stay in Dubai, getting back to Suffolk on 9th March.

So that is what we and vicariously you have to look forward to. Not a vast amount of sightseeing planned as it is getting more difficult for Val, but we should manage to fit in the odd Grand Mosque, swimming pools, food, beaches and lots of sunshine, so plenty to look forward to. There may even be a sunset or two, undoubtedly some wildlife and the inevitable hotel bathroom!!!!
